Award-winning Robert D.C. Emery is a multi-skilled musician, equally at home playing or conducting classical and light music.   His work has taken him all over the world conducting amongst others the London Philharmonic, Japan Philharmonic, British Philharmonic, National Symphony , Royal Liverpool  Philharmonic , Basel Symphony , Singapore Lyric , Birmingham Philharmonic , Evergreen Philharmonic, Central Aichi and The London Chorus.  He has worked with such diverse musical talent as Sir Simon Rattle and Bernard Haitink through to Blur/Damon Albarn and Petula Clark.


He is the personal Musical Director for Russell Watson recently conducting the new ‘Anthems’ album, and Associate Musical Supervisor for the world premiers of Dallebach Kari das Musical, Gotthelf das Musical, Lovebugs/Basel Symphony and Seven/21st Century Orchestra; all in Switzerland.

As musical director or associate, RDCE has also worked on; Royal Variety Performance 2010 (Palladium),  the broadway film A Tale of Two Cities (Theatre Royal, Brighton), Songs of my Life (Garrick, West End), Betwixt (Ambassadors West End), Variety Club International Awards (Guildhall, London) Opening of St Pancras International (New London Children’s Choir), Plague Songs with Damon Albarn (Barbican), BBC Christmas Celebration (BBC TV Centre), Honk! (Trinity),  Red Cross Royal Gala Ball (Mansion House), Celebrating Politics (Westminster Hall), 10 Minute Musical Challenge (Greenwich Theatre), Boorskale (Soho Theatre), And the World Goes Round, Joseph, An Evening with Rodgers and Hammerstein, Rocky Crusades and An Evening of Musicals and Music.

RDCE trained at the Royal College of Music and made his highly acclaimed London Debut when he was just thirteen at the South Bank.  Over the next two years he performed Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue, and was the regional finalist of BBC Young Musician of the Year.  Having made two solo piano albums and performed for members of the Royal Family, he then embarked on two hugely successful tours of thirty-two venues across the UK with the concert series, Robert Emery: A Classical Experience.

A successful arranger and composer, RDCE is currently composing music to all 154 Shakespeare Sonnets, writing four different musicals and arranging/supervising a new musical written by Petula Clark and Dee Shipman.

His other work includes being the Chief Executive of The Arts Group Limited which encompasses the UK’s leading one-2-one home music tuition service, the Arts Academy, a creative production house, Arts Festivals, and his personal orchestra, Arts  Symphonic.
