Autumn Fun

Since September I’ve had what some might call a whirlwind.  Life always seems to be very busy, but the last three months have been unusual with my feet not touching the floor; just the way I like it!

So first off, I have a great and unusual project on 4,5,6 February which I’ve just started.  In the past six weeks, I’ve been hopping to Switzerland and back regularly to get this monster off the ground.  Imagine a famous pop/rock band.  Now imagine a famous classical orchestra.  Fuse the two together and what do you get?  Robert stuck in the middle!  I’ve so far arranged around 80 minutes of music which includes rewriting the Lovebugs songs to fit with things like the Moonlight Sonata Beethoven, and Bach Toccata and Fugue.  There is a wonderful team featuring Moritz Schneider and Robin Hoffmann and I feel privileged to be conducting such a renowned orchestra.

Secondly, I have a phone call asking if I’d like to work with Russell Watson.  This world-famous tenor has been through a tough life so far, and he still bounces back to sing better than ever, so for me there was no hesitation in saying yes.  It’s always wonderful working with talented people; it’s even more amazing when that talented person has all the drive they need to do anything with their career – this is something I admire greatly.  So before I knew it I was hopping on a train to his house in Manchester to do a TV, and the following weekend jetting over to Miami for the Sony Global conference.  All fun and games!

Since Miami, I’ve been working towards Royal Variety 2010, the UK tour, a concert in Singapore and some more projects for 2011 which will be revealed shortly.

From a happy Brummy Boy, over and out!
