Today is a rather historic day in the life of RDCE, as today is the release of the first album I’ve ever done with a certain Mr Russell Watson.

Anthems is the title; and with tracks like ‘Race to the End’, ‘Swing Low’ and ‘We are the Champions’, you can understand why!

We have managed to turn the album around in record time – all the orchestral recording was done in just one day at Air Lyndhurst studios is North London on 26 March 2012 – just a couple of weeks after returning from the Australia tour.

I was lucky enough to conduct some of the album, and of course, had my orchestra, Arts Symphonic (www.arts-symphonic.co.uk) playing. They did an amazing job, and the quality of the recording sounds so rich and warm.

This photo is Russell, myself and Nick Patrick; the most experienced producer of these types of albums in the world. The sessions ran to time and very smoothly, and he did an excellent job. It was also nice to see the smile on the artists face once the orchestra struck up. Happy people all around.

The album is available now and you can purchase from iTunes here.

This blog post is brought to you with help from Red Bull.

This high-energy drink not only helps sports professionals with that little boost when they need it, but conducting a concert for three hours, or playing a 42 page piano concerto also puts pressure on the physical body. I've used Red Bull for years to keep my energy and concentration high - and whether you're studying for a degree or just simply going for a long walk, this wonder drink really does give you a little 'cheer me up' when needed. And with 7.5 billion cans sold in a year, it's certainly the most popular energy drink in the world!
